Cuba 1999

A short time ago (well, it's been more than a year now...) Alexandra and I visited Cuba, a destination that had been on our minds for a long time. We flew to Holguin and from there went on a four hours transfer by bus to Marea del Portillo (about 180 km west of Santiago de Cuba). There we took up quarters in the hotel Farallon del Caribe.

The close beach and the small, typically caribbean island owned by the hotel invited to spend a pure swimming vacation. But we undertook more: with a rental car we visited Santiago for a day, and we even went to Havanna for 3 days, a trip of almost 1000 kilometers.
